The guys at apple have just released today their newest offering of the iPhone.

The new iPhone 4 is better than ever, improving greatly on the features of the old iPhone!

It keeps the basic design of the iPhone but is thinner and sleeker, featuring a 5MP camera on both the front and the back of the phone.

The camera on the front and the back allows you chat face to face over wi-fi on the iPhone with their new App called FaceTime, you can even switch back and forth between the two cameras so the person you are talking to can see your face and then switch to what you can see.

The display is the highest resolution ever with 326 pixels per inch making text and graphics look smooth and continuous at any size.
You can even shoot your own films in high definition using the new iMovie app for the iPhone4.

With the recent release of the Google Nexus One in the states I thought I’d spend some time comparing its basic features to the ever popular Apple iPhone.

The two phones are similar in appearance but function quite differently, some has ever gone as far as calling the Nexus One the “iPhone Killer”.

Let’s have a look…

Google Nexus One
- Unlocked: The Nexus One is being sold unlocked so customers can purchase service plans separate from the mobile.
- Price: While the price has not been released in the UK, we can assume it will be around the US price $529 unlocked (330GBP).
- Applications: The Nexus One features between 15,000 and 20,000 applications.
- Camera: 5 megapixels, flash, autofocus
- Screen: 480×800 pixel resolution screen, 3.7in touch screen display

- Locked: It’s true the iPhone can be purchased unlocked, it is generally sold locked with contracts with either O2 or Orange.
- Price: Around £700 and up unlocked 16 GB.

- Screen: 480×320 pixel resolution, 3.5in widescreen multi-touch display

It’s clear that Google has spent much time and effort studying the iPhone’s best and worst qualities while developing innovations and improvements to create what they hope will become the  best selling smartphone of 2010.

So what does this mean????

It means that the Google Nexus One could very well give the iPhone a run for its money! In the end it all comes down to usability, quality and durability.

Yesterday, Orange launched a mobile television service for its iPhone subscribers in France. All customers who have an Origami Star plan of at least €42 per month will now be able to watch 20 TV channels on their iPhones – for free!

Adding the TV Max option for €9 per month allows customers to access all 64 Orange TV channels. The TV connection is supported via Orange’s 3G network or via EDGE for areas where 3G isn’t available.

The timing of Orange’s announcement is definetely not coincidental, as the company recently lost its exclusivity over iPhone sales in France.  This month, Orange’s main competitors, SFR and Bouygues, will also start selling the popular gadget.

As for British customers, rumour has it that O2 might also lose its exclusive contract with Apple, meaning Orange may start selling the iPhone in the UK as early as this summer. Keep your fingers crossed that Orange will also be offering its free TV channels to UK customers, too!

If you are interested in getting an iPhone, it might be worth it to wait a few months.  With more companies starting to sell the phone, prices may start to drop as the competition heats up!

How can you use your Iphone or Ipod without having to take off your glove and risk to losing a finger to the cold?
Well, as always, Apple has the answer.  Apple has already patented a concept design for iPhone gloves. The gloves feature an electrically conductive inner layer of fabric, which would allow users to use their iPhone or change the song on their iPod without taking off their gloves.

Apple, Sales, reduced prices? What doesn’t quite sound right, is true! Apple has decided to a special sales on Black Friday in all Apple Stores worldwide today. This sale is only taking place today, which makes it even more interesting! We had hoped for better discounts or bargains but I guess for Apple that is already quite impressive/strange/new.
